Rolf Prima Carbon Disc

This flat, carbon, tubular tyre disc comes with a titanium hub body and SRAM, Shimano or Campag options. It weighs in at 930g, accelerates quickly and, in the acid test, doesn’t feel draggy uphill.

There’s an increasing tendency to design discs with certain frames in mind, so the disc deals optimally with the way air flows off the frame. However, flat discs, like this one, work fine with all frames. The Rolf hub bearings are fantastic and the whole package rides well, with great road noise making you feel fast.

One thing (and maybe we spend too much time listening to Team Sky), using a 19mm tub, not the 22mm this was supplied with, would make for an even more slippery package.
