New Balance 1080

New Balance began their business in the early 20th century manufacturing arch supports for police officers and waiters. Their history of podiatry continues to be seen in their shoes, with the useful feature of different width shoes as well as standard sizes.

The New Balance 1080 running shoe is designed for neutral runners with plenty of cushioning for higher mileage or heavier runners. It contains all the standard technology features from New Balance, such as a seamless liner, a ‘stability web’ to reduce weight and the N-Durance rubber sole for added durabilty.

On the downside, despite advertising a seamless liner, there are seams running around the inside of the shoe that can cause rubbing for those of us who run without socks. Choosing shoes may be highly personal but if the 1080 suits your biomechanics, it’ll certainly be a good-quality and lasting shoe.
