Mizuno Wave Rider 14

This aesthetically strong, if not traditional looking shoe, gives a highly pleasant run experience. As soon as you put it on your foot, you’re aware of how good a fit it is: well-considered, snug and tight enough around the midsole, without causing discomfort. Wider feet might find the toe box a little restrictive but it won’t be an issue for most.

The eponymous ‘Wave’ refers to the shape of the sole, or ‘the Wave plate’, which is designed to disperse the force of impact across a larger surface area, and provide a more comfortable ride. It works. As does the wealth of other Mizuno trademarked technologies, all designed with one thing in mind: comfort.

The combined result is one of the most technical feeling and well-balanced cushioning systems we’ve ever experienced. Road feel and long-distance comfort associated with temperature build-up are on the ‘Okay’ side, but the shoe is supremely well built and durable.
