Helly Hansen Fire S/S
Helly Hansen is renowned for its high-quality layering systems. This new summer tee follows in the footsteps of their base layers but injects some extra fabric technology into the mix.
The Coolgrid fabric panel down the back is a grid of raised fabric squares designed to hold the fabric off the skin’s surface, allowing greater airflow, evaporation and cooling.
However, we couldn’t quite decide whether we liked it or not. It does prevent cling and is comfortable, but with higher level of sweating, the sensation of the damp grid on your back feels slightly odd. The remainder of the tee has been manufactured from high-quality wicking fabric, which dealt with moisture well.
The semi-loose fit allows good airflow, and ultimately an irritation-free experience. This is a highly technical and comfortable lightweight tee with no real drawbacks – a great summer choice.
