Minoura V270
We got a shock when we saw the Minoura’s price because it looks like a dog’s dinner. Actually using it, though, reveals a pedigree training chum.
The new H-frame design is scruffy in welding, but unfolds into a solid base that’s adjustable for wonky floors. The plastic cam lever locks the bike in and the cloth strap-on remote is the most versatile here.
The seven different resistance levels transition smoothly from novice warm-up to potentially quad-bursting resistance, thanks to powerful Neodymium magnets. These act directly on the flywheel and reduce pulsing, making this a good choice for chunky riders.
Like most inertia motors, you need to crank the roller up to stop spin. Vibration and noise levels are bearable rather than blissful. It seems expensive for the overall level of finishing, even if that doesn’t affect performance.
