Nike Lunarglide

These are without doubt among the lightest training shoes on the market. But, importantly, the weight-saving doesn’t appear to be at the loss of any cushioning or too much support. Nike tends to come up with softer shoes (see the Nike Free) and these are no exception, although there’s a hard feel underneath the instep.

Designed using Nike’s Flywire Technology, the uppers are made of an ultra lightweight yet very strong fabric that’s used to provide the support. On the positive side this means the fit is very snug, even to the point that you could run without socks in them.

That, of course, means the Lunarglide could be used for racing, which is a polite way of saying we preferred these shoes for shorter, pacier runs rather than longer and slower training runs. Also, while the fabric is strong, it felt a little too soft after any extended use in them.
