Topeak Joe Blow Turbo

A chunky, albeit pricey pump with a big handle that feels solid under hand.

It has one connection that locks onto either Presta or Schrader valves, which saves any confusion, and a pressure-release valve to aid accuracy. It came towards the bottom end of our 0-60psi inflation speed test, but the big bore of the air chamber meant it wasn’t a struggle to pump up to 100psi.

Being at the top of the pump the pressure gauge was easy to see, or at least the psi part was. If, however, you like to measure pressure in bar, you’ll find those figures on the outside of the dial, which unfortunately are partly obscured. Thanks to its compact size and design, though, the adaptor stows away neatly and the pump stands up securely on its robust base.
