Lake CX311C
Sporting a low-profile white carbon sole and a two-strap closure design, the CX311C is Lake’s top of the range tri-specific shoe.
They’ve done a good job with the liner and they’re comfortable enough to ride sockless in, but there are questions over long-distance comfort.
The fit’s comfortable and, unlike the Sidi, these have a generous fit. The uppers have plenty of ventilation that, combined with the two drainage holes in the sole, let your feet drain and dry out efficiently. Quick entry and exit is offered when both straps are open, but with the front strap already fastened it’s a little trickier.
Fastening the main strap can also cause a problem, as an overlaid second piece of Velcro needs a hard tug to feed it through the buckle loop. Generally speaking these do little wrong and will fit wider feet and prove to be comfortable. But, for this price, we feel it needs more tweaking.
